Job Summary:
Responsibilities for this position include developing and implementing a comprehensive program for students from middle school through high school. The goal of the ministry to students is to bring them into a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and provide a place where they can connect with other believers and grow in their Christian faith.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Plan, organize, and promote student worship services and Bible studies, seminars, and other activities relating to student discipleship.
2. Responsible for the student education program, including familiarity, selection, and coordination of curriculum and training materials.
3. Promote and engage in activities that appeal to both genders and that respect the diversity of the students and their families.
4. Enlist, train, and supervise volunteers that serve in various roles and positions within the student ministry, and perform background checks as needed.
5. Plan camps and retreats, acquiring locations and enlisting appropriate chaperones and leaders.
6. Responsible for the enlistment and training of student workers, and meeting regularly with student workers to discuss needs and opportunities of the student ministry.
7. Publish a calendar of activities and, through various channels, regularly communicate information to parents regarding upcoming events, studies, and other opportunities of which they and their students can be a part.
8. Prepare and administer an annual student ministry budget; collect and submit activity fees to the Stewardship Committee.
9. Coordinate all student fund-raising activities with the Pastor and staff.
10. Provide resources, and ministry and training opportunities to equip the parents of students.
11. Create and provide student opportunities to serve through missions and outreach, and to engage other members of the church body in youth activities.
12. Focus on in-reach and out-reach programs and activities.
13. Promote unity with upcoming students from lower grades and develop plans for an effective transition into the youth program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Successful candidates must be professing Christians who enthusiastically support Woodmont’s identity, mission, vision, goals, and core beliefs; and who are able to articulate their testimony and a clear calling to the role of Youth Minister. They will also have experience supervising and managing others; have effective relational skills and work well with others; be teachable, flexible, and adaptable, with a desire to grow in their faith and abilities; and have a passion for youth ministry. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or higher from a four-year accredited college or university (some Bible college or Seminary desired) and have at least three years youth ministry experience in a growing youth ministry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Holy Bible and Biblical principles regarding effective leadership and management practices in the Church; staff policies and procedures; and Woodmont’s Identity, Mission, and Core Values.
Skills in: writing to communicate in a clear and concise manner with a broad constituency inside and outside the Church; counseling students on faith-related issues; and the operation of Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel).
Ability to: work independently with minimal supervision; work well with support staff and volunteers; articulate a Christian worldview; represent Woodmont Baptist Church in a positive manner; and deal effectively with a wide range of constituents, including church members, staff, students, and their parents, as well as individuals and organizations outside the Church.
Physical Requirements:
The work performed by this position is of a general office/administrative nature. It requires the ability to operate a computer and communicate on the telephone and in writing. Work performed does require walking on campus and at youth and church events, extended periods of time sitting, and some daily instances of bending, stooping, and carrying items up to 50 pounds. Some travel is also required.
